CleanLink is a browser extension that removes tracking parameters from URLs. It is designed with privacy as its core principle. The extension runs entirely in your browser and makes no external network requests of any kind.

Data collection

CleanLink does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data. Specifically:

• No browsing history is collected or sent anywhere
• No URLs are sent to any server
• No analytics or telemetry is used
• No cookies are set
• No user accounts are required
• No advertising is displayed

Local storage

CleanLink stores the following data locally on your device using the browser's built-in storage API (chrome.storage):

• Custom rules: Your tracking parameter list and domain allowlist settings, synced across your browsers via your Chrome profile
• Preferences: Toggle states for features like auto-clean and trailing slash removal
• Usage statistics: A local-only counter of how many URLs you have cleaned and parameters removed. This data never leaves your device

You can clear all stored data at any time through the extension's settings page.

Permissions

CleanLink requests only the minimum browser permissions required to function:

• activeTab: To read the current tab's URL for cleaning
• tabs: To detect URL changes for the badge counter and auto-clean feature
• webNavigation: To update the badge counter when navigation completes
• clipboardWrite: To copy the cleaned URL to your clipboard
• contextMenus: To add the "Copy Clean Link" right-click option
• storage: To save your settings and local statistics

Third parties

CleanLink does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. No data is shared with or sold to any third party.

Remote code

CleanLink does not load or execute any remote code. All functionality is bundled within the extension package.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. The extension will continue to operate under the principle of collecting zero user data.
